It’s a little weird how this forum doesn’t actually allow you to delete your posts, and it records a log of every edit you make. Why doesn’t it allow you to true-delete a post?

You should have enough privileges to delete a post, but perhaps you were trying to delete a TOPIC?

I think he means that whenever you delete a post, it just turns red. This is probably because you are a moderator, and you can see deleted posts. The deleted posts are actually deleted to anyone non-moderator.
About the edits, well that I don’t know.
